During the dynamic Jesus Revolution in 1960s and '70s America, young people in the Lutheran church experienced a substantial spiritual revival of their own. Across the nation, as if driven by an invisible impulse, thousands of Lutheran youth formed traveling Gospel teams which shared the love of Jesus through music, witness, and one-on-one contact. From countless churches, colleges, and organizations such as Lutheran Youth Encounter and the Lutheran Evangelistic Movement, these teams of young evangelists emanated, reaching out especially to their peers. The phenomenon continued for an entire generation until the cumulative task force of volunteer lay evangelists numbered well over 50,000. This is the remarkable story of the Lutheran Gospel Team Movement - a modernly classical revival and undeniable evidence of the hand of God.
