Margaret L. Andersen, (BA, Georgia State University, MA and PhD, University of Massachusetts, Amherst), is the Edward F. and Elizabeth Goodman Rosenberg Professor of Sociology at the University of Delaware where she also holds appointments in Black American Studies and Women's Studies. She is the author of numerous books and articles, including Thinking about Women, On Land and On Sea: A Century of Women in the Rosenfeld Collection, and Race and Ethnicity in Society (co-edited with Elizabeth Higginbotham), among others. She is a recipient of the American Sociological Association's Jessie Bernard Award. She is the Vice President of the American Sociological Society and Chair of the National Advisory Board of Stanford University's Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. Neil F. Thomas is a veteran reporter and editor who now works for the Office of Communications and Marketing at the University of Delaware, from which he graduated in 1976 with a BA in history.
