In his commercial photography career, David photographed the Eagles' Hotel California album cover, the Blues Brothers' album covers and movie poster, and The Terminator movie poster. Some of the music artists for whom he photographed album covers are Aretha Franklin, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, James Brown, Bonnie Raitt, Ringo Starr, Tina Turner, Donna Summer, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Doobie Brothers, The Steve Miller Band, and The Allman Brothers. He also photographed movie posters for Bill Murray's Stripes, Richard Pryor Live on Sunset Strip, 9 To 5 with Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton, Fletch, and others. He graduated from LA Valley College, UC Berkeley, and The University of Chicago Law School before going into photography.
