The first part of the Aeschylus penned Oresteia Trilogy deals with Agamemnon's return from the Trojan War. His wife Clytemnestra murders him as revenge for taking Cassandra as a concubine and sacrificing their daughter to the gods. The prophet Cassandra predicts the events of the play.
