Prometheus Bound was traditionally ascribed to Aeschylus. However, the authorship has come into doubt. The story tells of Prometheus, imprisoned by Zeus as punishment for providing fire to mortals. Nonetheless, some of the other gods are sympathetic to his plight and resist the god of lightning's plans.
