Lazarus, who had been raised fromthe dead was one of them that sat at the table with him. Martha was serving at the supper, and Mary too was there; but she saw nothing, heard nothing, thought of nothing but her di vine Lord. While he was reclining at the table, Mary, who had often sat at Jesus' feet and learned of him - of whom Jesus himself had said, She has chosen that good part which shall not be taken away from her, - came be hind him, having an alabaster box of spike nard, very costly, and breaking the seal she poured it upon his head.
