One of the greatest gifts of childhood is play. There is something magical about playing. It takes you away to another place; a place where you get to make the rules and decide how the story is going to end. I used to use my imagination to build castles in the sand, while having the crowds cheer as I save the princess! Now I use my creativity, combined with my observations and life experiences, to develop my story in the form of poetry, which you will find inside this book. Below are a few excerpts that will provide you with insights/ideas of my work. An excerpt from the narrative for, "The Young Poet:" "I write poetry because it drives me. When I feel driven, I cannot resist it; I have to see it through. I notice and observe, then a verse is supplanted into my mind.
Every poem I've written has started small; a word, a line, or just a concept. I write it down and the building process begins." A stanza from the poem, "Clutching the Mast:" Search for a way, only darkness I see, I know there's a path, my heart is the key. Remember the past, when most was carefree? Running and hiding and climbing the trees? A excerpt from the poem, "Full of Doubt:" A path is tried, some steps are found; the stories swell in silent sound. Be cautious now or just be bold; the world is lonely and just as cold.
