Pressure Cooker Recipes "Hello Ann, when I was just a young girl, my grandmother used to make some of the most amazing dishes out of her pressure cooker. They lived outside of town on a farm during those early days of my youth, when she passed away her recipes got scattered to the wind. I was wondering if you might have recipes for meals that can be prepared in a pressure cooker." I remember a handful of meals my own grandmother would prepare in the pressure cooker. She lived out in the rural countryside as well, and Sunday dinners were often held at her place. As I grew older and time passed on, many of those pressure cooker recipes were replaced with more modern dishes designed to be easier and quicker to make. I have spent more than one weekend scouring the virtual countryside looking for pressure cooker recipes. Thankfully, I was able to rustle up a few of them from a couple of my favorite church members.
Several of these older ladies have managed to keep their hands on these valuable recipes and were more than willing to share. Since compiling these recipes I have had several opportunities to try them out. The Thai Cabin Vegetable Soup, Spareribs Sauerkraut and Potatoes, as well as the Scottish dish called Steak Pie, were instant hits at our house. Cooking with a pressure cooker takes a bit of practice, especially if you have never used one before, in which case I suggest doing a little research on cooking channel websites or YouTube before getting started with these. Bon Appetit, Ann Sullivan.
