Professor Ingrid Johnson has more than 40 years of experience in the textile industry. She holds a baccalaureate degree in textiles from Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science and a master's degree in textile from North Carolina State University. She is a full professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.) where she has been chair and long standing member of the Textile Development & Marketing department, acting Vice President for Academic Affairs for the institution and currently acting associate chair of the Home Products department. She has lectured both in the United States and internationally and is frequently sought by the media to offer insight into textiles and industry trends, including the Wall Street Journal, Wired Magazine, and Glamour Magazine, Real Simple among others. She is co-author of Fabric Science, published by Fairchild Publications, which has released the 11th edition of this widely used text and its companion swatch kit as well as co-author of Fairchild's Textile Dictionary 8th edition.
