Christopher Riley is a professional screenwriter working in Hollywood with his wife and writing partner, Kathleen Riley. Together they wrote the 1999 theatrical feature After the Truth, a multiple-award-winning German language courtroom thriller. The film sparked international controversy when it was released in Germany and earned its star Goetz George a best actor nomination for the prestigious European Film Award for his portrayal of Nazi doctor Josef Mengele. Since then, the husband-wife team has written scripts ranging from legal and political thrillers to action-romances for Touchstone Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Mandalay Television Pictures, and Sean Connery's Fountainbridge Films. The author worked from 1983 to 1998 in the acclaimed Warner Bros. script processing department where he learned from veteran script proofreaders and typists with decades of Hollywood experience. He rose to manage the historic studio's script operation, supplying scripts to countless projects in development and production at Warner Bros. and virtually every other studio in Hollywood.
He wrote the software used by the studio to type thousands of television and feature film scripts and he served as the final arbiter of standard script format for the studio. In addition to writing, the Rileys train aspiring screenwriters for work in Hollywood and have taught in Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., New York, and Paris. Together with their four children, they live in Los Angeles. The author can be reached by e-mail at criley@scriptHollywood.com.
