Kate Kennedy is a Chicago-based entrepreneur who is best known for her brand Be There in Five. After her signature product, the 'remindoormat,' took off unexpectedly, Kate had to leave her corporate marketing job to run her hobby-turned-business full-time. While she's now a business owner by trade, Kate's lifelong passion has always been storytelling and poetry, rhyming her way through birthday cards, speeches, college essays, wedding toasts throughout the years. After starting a business and facing the necessary perils of social media self-promotion, Kate was inspired to write this book, which pairs her love for rhyming with her hilarious commentary about today's influencer economy from an outsider's point of view. Kate and her products have been featured in Glamour, Self, Martha Stewart Living, RealSimple, TeenVogue, Huffington Post, BuzzFeed, Refinery29 and more. Her love for social media comes from experience, she can be found on Instagram (@bethereinfive). Torie Conn is an illustrator who was born and raised in the city of Chicago.
