This text offers a review of veterinary ophthalmology. Presented in three sections, the text offers both a practical and theoretical consideration of the field. The first section on basic sciences and examination is devoted to embryology and anatomy, physiology, clinical pharmacology, and ophthalmic examination and diagnostic procedures. Section two is dedicated to the range of canine ophthalmology, with chapters on the orbit, eyelids, lacrimal and nasolacrimal systems, nictitating membrane and conjunctiva, cornea, anterior uvea, the glaucomas, lens and the posterior segment. The final section offers coverage of special ophthalmology, including feline ophthalmology, equine ophthalmology, food animal ophthalmology, laboratory animal ophthalmology. For each chapter, the clinical signs, pathogenesis, aetiology, gross and microsopic pathology, prognosis and treatment are emphasized for each ophthalmic abnormality.
