Al has been a world-class trainer since 1970 when he established his Almosta Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona. During his career, he has achieved unparalled success, having trained and shown many world and reserve world champions in the American Quarter Horse Association, National Reining Horse Association, and National Cutting Horse Association. Although Al has been successful in a number of events, reining has always been his specialty and the event for which he is best known. He has conducted reining clinics all over the world, coached many successful non-pro riders, and judged many major horse shows, including the AQHA World Championship Show several times.
